چکیده

The degradation of Reactive Yellow 18 (RY-18), induced by gamma radiation in aqueous medium, was carried out as a function dose (5–20 kGy) and concentration hydrogen peroxide, the initial dye pH solution were optimized for maximum efficiency. Gamma radiations alone combination with H2O2 used to degrade RY-18. A rate 99% achieved using an absorbed 20 kGy, 0.6 mL acidic pH. Variations functional groups untreated treated RY-18 determined FTIR analysis. LCMS technique determine intermediates formed during process. cytotoxicity mutagenicity studied hemolytic Ames tests, respectively. There significant reductions response treatment. Cytotoxicity reduced from 15.1% 7.6% after treatment kGy H2O2. Mutagenicity 81.3% 82.3% against bacterial strains TA98 TA100 advanced oxidation process efficiency evaluated byproduct formations, which low-molecular-weight organic acid units, through further converted into carbon dioxide water end products. Based on degradation, reduction, has potential removal effluents.

Degradation of Atrazine by Advanced Oxidation Processes

Advanced oxidation processes like ozonation (O3) and ultrasonic irradiation (US) can be employed for the removal of recalcitrant compounds from water matrices. Atrazine is a pesticide which has been banned in the EU countries, since it is toxic and potentially carcinogenic even in very small concentrations. After their use in agricultural areas, the pesticides tend to leave residuals on the soi...

Degradation of Low Concentrations of Formaldehyde in Sono Catalytic Ozonation Advanced Oxidation Processes using Zero-valent Iron

The purpose of the current study is to evaluate formaldehyde degradation ratio with various methods in a batch reactor. In this work, the ozonation, sonolysis (ultrasonic), and ozone sonolysis, sono catalytic ozonation (SCO), and nano zero-valent iron catalyst processes were investigated for removal of formaldehyde. In addition, the influence of important factors such as pH (5–9), ultrasonic po...

Degradation of cyanobacterial biosignatures by ionizing radiation.

Primitive photosynthetic microorganisms, either dormant or dead, may remain today on the martian surface, akin to terrestrial cyanobacteria surviving endolithically in martian analog sites on Earth such as the Antarctic Dry Valleys and the Atacama Desert. Potential markers of martian photoautotrophs include the red edge of chlorophyll reflectance spectra or fluorescence emission from systems of...

Advanced oxidation of formaldehyde in the aqueous solutions using UVC/S2O82- process: Degradation and mineralization

Background: As a human carcinogen, formaldehyde is a toxic chemical imposing adverse effects on public health and environment. Due to its high reactivity, colorless nature, sustainability, purity in commercial forms, and low prices, the production and consumption of this compound has expanded vastly in industries. Methods: In this study, a UVC photoreactor with a total volume of 120 mL was us...
